FESTIVAL WEATHER UPDATE as of Friday Morning:
Due to the impending snow for Saturday, January 6th, the Miller Music Festival will be scaling back.
- Doors will open at 8 am at Trinity UCC, Heidelberg, and St John’s for early auditions and limited setup
- NO OUTDOOR VENUES will be set up
- SCHEDULED AUDITIONS (all three churches) and THEORY TESTS (St John) will go on until noon
- SCHEDULED EVENTS will open at 10 am and go on as planned, but only until noon
- The Matinee “TRADITIONS” recital will (still) be held at 1 pm at St John’s but will now also include the Miller Scholarship Competition student performances
- All events after the 1 pm recital/competition are CANCELED, including the 2:30 pm NEXT GEN recital and the 4 pm “Finale at 4”
- Activity stations will be closing by 12:30 pm.
All activities will take place from 10am-12:30pm.
The festival will conclude after the 1pm The Matinee “TRADITIONS” recital and Miller Scholarship Competition at St John’s Episcopal. All outdoor activities are canceled as is the Next Gen Recital and Finale.
Visit all the venues, sign up for multiple sessions, build and play the instruments… design your own musical experience! EXPLORERS of all ages are welcome!

MAIN REGISTRATION AND PASSPORT PICKUP
WHEN: All day beginning at 9 am
WHERE: Philadelphia Street entrance to HEIDELBERG UCC
WHAT: Stop in and pick up your Festival “passport” and map and find out where all of the day’s activities are happening!
Participate in activities and get your passport stamped at each one.
Collect 5-8 stamps and head over to Prince St. Cafe to redeem them for a FREE hot chocolate!
Collect 8 or more stamps and head to Archetype Pizza for a FREE slice!
Extra-ambitious festival participants (8+ stamps) will qualify to enter a drawing for FREE tickets to a variety of upcoming events at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts.
FREE MUSIC EXCHANGE
WHEN: All day (10 am – 3 pm)
WHERE: At HEIDELBERG UCC (in the Auditorium area)
WHAT: Pick up (or feel free to drop off) donated music books, both repertoire and pedagogical volumes – if it’s on the table, it’s free to a good home (and you can drop off anything you’ve outgrown or want to trade)
PICK-ME-UP SNACKS ALL DAY at ST JOHN EPISCOPAL and HEIDELBERG UCC
Individually packaged FREE snacks and pony bottles of water will help keep you going so that you can visit ALL the venues and stations!
SUSAN MILLER FESTIVAL AUDITIONS
WHEN: All day by appointment (pre-registration required)
WHERE: Beginners/early intermediate piano at ST JOHN EPISCOPAL (Choir Room), Elementary strings at HEIDELBERG UCC (Classroom), Advancing piano, strings, and voice at TRINITY UCC (sanctuary)
WHAT: Students who have pre-registered will play a closed (elementary) or public (advanced) audition for an adjudicator who will rate their performances.
Students who will be participating in auditions during the festival, please register below:
If you or your student plan on auditioning, we suggest printing and filling out the above audition form, scanning it or taking a picture of it filled-out, and sending the image of your form to reachme1@comcast.net.
The Matinee Musical Club FESTIVAL RECITAL will be at 1 pm on Saturday, January 6th at St John Episcopal (140 North Beaver Street) featuring advancing students and professionals from the mid-Atlantic region in a diverse program of solo and chamber music
The Matinee Musical Club WOLF Scholarship Competition auditions – live and open to the public! – will be held at 2:30 pm at Trinity UCC (32 West Market Street, York) on Saturday, January 6th – the winners will be announced at the Miller MAKE MUSIC Festival “Finale at 4” at Heidelberg UCC (47 West Philadelphia Street York)
