Kim Finnigan
Description
Originally from Northern Virginia, Kim earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from West Virginia University and pursued graduate studies in Viola Pedagogy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. She served as the Orchestra Director at Hylton High School in Prince William County, Virginia, where she oversaw an orchestra program with 150 students across three separate orchestras. In 2009 she left public education to raise her family while continuing her private lesson studio. Kim has maintained a private studio for over twenty years, teaching violin, viola, and cello, and continues to perform as a freelance violist. She currently holds the position of Assistant Director of the York Junior Symphony Orchestra, where she assists with rehearsals and directs the string ensemble.
In her free time, Kim enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, gardening, and kayaking. She resides in Southern York County with her husband and three children.
