Originally from Sydney, Australia, Katie has been playing piano for almost twenty years. She is classically trained with experience in performance and accompaniment, achieving certificates through the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) in piano performance and theory. She is currently a proud member of the Music National Teachers Association (MTNA), the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association (PMTA), and York Music Teachers Association (YMTA). She is also an approved teacher through the Music Link Foundation which provides scholarships for low-income students. Her special interest is working with young beginners to provide a strong foundation to musical knowledge and expression in fun and engaging ways. She is passionate about the accessibility and affordability of music education,  decolonizing and expanding music education to include the experiences of all, and participating in the arts as an avenue for social change. Outside of the classroom, Katie is involved in various community projects and is studying her Masters in Public Leadership.
